Stairlift
A stairlift is an assistive device designed for elderly seniors , people with leg problems limited mobility, helping them move into and between different floors of a building more conveniently and safely. Its use not only improves the user's quality of life but also enhances their independence and autonomy.
1. Staircase elevator track length and width:
A straight space of more than 1 meter is typically required to install the elevator track. The track length is related to the number of steps and the floor height.
2. Seat Dimensions:
Standard chairlift seats are typically 40-50cm wide and 40-50cm deep.
3. Spacing between the elevator track and the wall:
For safety reasons, a gap of 110-150mm should be left between the elevator track and the wall.
4. Staircase Space:
If installed next to a staircase, the staircase width must be at least 750mm to allow sufficient space for pedestrians. Before installing the staircase elevator, the slope of the staircase should also be considered, typically around 50°.

Straight Stairlifts:
Straight stairlifts are designed for staircases without bends or landings. They use a simple, straight rail system, making installation easier, more cost-effective, and easier to maintain. They also provide a smooth, stable ride, making them an ideal solution for most residential staircases.
Curved Stairlifts:
Curved stairlifts are custom-built to follow staircases with bends, corners, or intermediate landings. Although they require more complex engineering and a higher investment, they offer a precise fit, reliable performance, and safe, comfortable travel on staircases with unique layouts.

Stairlifts are designed primarily to provide a convenient and comfortable ride, rather than pursuing high-speed operation. Therefore, compared to a regular passenger elevator, the travel time for a chairlift may be longer
The time it takes for a stairlift to travel from the first floor to the second floor depends on several factors, including the stairlift's design and performance, the height between the floors, the speed of the lift, and the amount of time it stops at each floor.
For example, a curved stairlift runs around 0.12 meters per second, meaning it travels approximately 7.2 meters per minute. The stairlift might usually take about 50 -80 seconds to travel from the first to the second floor with height of the floor, speed set and stops per floor.
The stairlift is powered by battery inside the unit under normal operation. If there is a power outage the built-in battery will continue supplying power so the stairlift can keep operating, ensuring the user will not get stranded on the stairs. Typically it can still operate 2-4 hours in a full charge condition.
